Massage therapists use long, broad strokes on superficial layers of muscles using oil or lotion. SM is a very gentle and relaxing massage. It relaxes muscles and improves circulation. DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE (DT), $65, $90 (1hour, or 1.5 hours) Deep Tissue Massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. It is recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain and patients who have sustained physical injury. Deep Tissue massage can be very beneficial for a wide variety of different conditions like fibromyalgia, headaches, sciatica and carpal tunnel syndrome. The pressure applied by the Massage therapist will be more intense. The therapists focus will be on chronic muscle tension, or knots (also known as adhesions). SPORTS MASSAGE, $65, $90 (1 hour, or 1.5 hours) Sports Massage is designed for people who are involved in intense physical exercise. The focus isn't on relaxation, but on preventing and treating injuries and enhancing athletic performance. The massage therapist uses a combination of massage techniques to loosen up tight muscles. Facilitated stretching is a common technique to increase flexibility as well as improving joint Range of motion. MYOFASCIAL RELEASE, $65, $90 (1 hour, or 1.5 hours) Myo- means muscle and fascia is the elastic connective tissue wrapped around muscles and other structures of the body. The therapist applies slow, stretching friction without the application of oil. The therapy releases tight fascia, improves muscle function, restores normal alignment and decreases pain. NEUROMUSCULAR MASSAGE (NMT) w/DEEP TISSUE $45, $65, $90 (1/2 hour, 1 hour, or 1.5 hours) A type (modality) of massage that works specific muscles and their tendons to release Trigger points (hyper irritable spots in the muscle). Trigger points can refer pain elsewhere in the body. The therapist works on reducing pain signals to the brain and resetting neuron system to restore its proper function. DORN-SPINAL THERAPY $65 (approx. 30-45 Min.) Recommended for everybody, especially people who already have developed a spinal pain pattern. DORN-SPINAL THERAPY (w/DT AND NMT), $90, (1.5 hours) This is probably the most effective way to help relieve any kind of muscle pain issue.
